What is a designated driver service?
A designated driver service sends a licensed driver to you who drives you home in your own car while you ride as a passenger. In Singapore it's also called a drive-home valet or 代驾 (dai jia) — same service, three names. You get home safely, your car gets home with you, and you were never the one driving after drinking.
How much does a designated driver cost in Singapore?
98 Valet prices by pickup time: $35 Early Bird before 11pm on any night. Weekend nights (Fri, Sat and public-holiday eves) then run $40 from 11pm and $50 Peak from 1am to 5am; Sunday to Thursday nights are $40 from 11pm. Daytime pickups are $55, and extra stops or Sentosa access are +$10 each. Same fare islandwide — no zone pricing, no surge.
Is using a designated driver legal in Singapore?
Yes — completely. A licensed driver drives your car with your permission while you ride as a passenger, so you're never driving after drinking. Nothing to declare, nothing to arrange.
How is this different from taking a Grab or taxi?
With a Grab or taxi, your car stays behind — you pay overnight parking, and tomorrow you make a second trip to collect it. A designated driver takes you home in your own car, so there's one trip, no overnight parking, and no morning retrieval run.
What if the driver has to wait for me?
The first 15 minutes of waiting are free. Your driver checks in with you at 10 minutes so it's never a surprise, and after the 15-minute mark waiting is billed at $20 per started 20-minute block.
